Wing Chun Wooden Dummy – Stepping, Jut Sau Coordination & Elbow Control
In this advanced Wing Chun wooden dummy lesson, you’ll be introduced to stepping to the side of the dummy while coordinating Jut Sau with precise footwork. A key focus is learning how to lock the dummy leg with your shin, integrating lower body control with upper body technique for full-body coordination.
One of the most important takeaways is establishing a strong connection toward the end of the dummy arm after each attack, followed by consciously closing your elbow in to maintain structure and control.
You’ll also learn smooth and efficient transitions from inside Tan Sau to outside Jut Sau, finishing with a cutting throat strike supported by a stable Wu Sau hand. These drills are designed to sharpen your positioning, structural integrity, and flow during transitions.
This lesson is essential for developing close-range control, stepping precision, and seamless hand coordination—cornerstones of effective Wing Chun practice on the wooden dummy.
