Wing Chun Wooden Dummy: Full-Dummy Series
•
Educational, Short Films, Special Interest, Sports, PG-13, 01-Aug-2024
In this lesson, emphasis is on flow-continuity and performing drills on both the left and right side without interruption. These drills are explained in more depth than in the previous lesson. When you reach a certain level of proficiency, you will be able to insert more short power throughout practice (inch power). Tactile density throughout movements will be maintained consistently.
In the first drill, power is transferred into the dummy arms toward the same direction. In the second and third drills, power is transferred into different directions. This type of practice develops the skill to occupy advantageous positions in both attack and defense.
By mastering these techniques, practitioners will develop a solid foundation that integrates essential Wing Chun skills with proper hand and foot coordination. Through these lessons, you will learn how to extract different drills from the basic framework of techniques presented in each lesson.
The techniques that we will drill on the wooden dummy include:
High and low Gaun Sau
Man Sau
Tan Sau
Jut Sau
Tok Sau
Upper lying palm
