The Continuous Cycle of Jut Sau, Tan Sau, and Bong Sau
In this lesson, we focus on the continuous cycling between Jut Sau, Tan Sau, and Bong Sau, with an emphasis on the direction and degree of force during these flowing transitions.
There are four key directions for force application—left, right, up, and down—and these are expressed through the controlled rotations of the wrist and elbow. These rotations are dynamic methods of control, not static poses. Through these circular motions around the Wooden Dummy arms, you’ll learn to project force either in unison with both arms or in a splitting manner—one going one way, one the other.
This kind of drill work is essential for developing tactile sensitivity, as well as fine control and manipulation through your wrists and hands. It is not just technique—it is about feeling and adjusting in real time through structured contact.
Important: These drills should be practiced in the order they are introduced. Skipping ahead or rearranging the sequence will affect your ability to properly absorb the method and its deeper qualities
